For Your Entertainment: The sequel plague

Sometimes it seems every movie in theaters is a sequel, remake, reboot or book adaptation. Just recently, Hollywood’s remade “Robocop”, “Godzilla”, “Spider-Man,” and “Planet of the Apes.” DreamWorks is planning a “Shrek 5” because “his story isn’t done yet.” Book adaptations in the works include “Paper Towns” and “The Maze Runner” as well as the next two “Hunger Games” movies.

When Life Gives You Lemons: 14 life lessons that are best taught by your mother

Through as much of my childhood as I can remember, I had a friend — a best friend — that was attached to my hip at all times. I can recall very few memories prior to high school that didn’t involve the two of us, junk food, and staying up until 6 a.m. When high school came around, we went to different schools. We spent less time together, called each other a little less frequently, and began to move in separate directions.

The Starving Gator: Cake Pops The Lazy Way

The two main things that keep me from cooking every night have to be 1) lack of time and 2) lack of energy.  Since I’m all about anything and everything that can make my life easier, I’m starting a new series called “(insert food item here) the lazy way”. This basically means I’m going to give you a bunch of little tips and tricks that make seemingly difficult foods much easier.  Sounds fun, right?  This week I decided that I’m going to start with everyone’s new favorite treat, cake pops. Cake pops are adorable and delicious, but look like they take a lot of effort. Truthfully, if you follow any old recipe on the Internet, you really are in for a daylong ordeal. Fear not though, because I have a few tips to make your cake pop experience ever sweeter.

Swamp of Love: Being all by myself isn’t a bad thing

The name of this blog is called “Swamp of Love” so naturally most of you will assume that my articles will be about falling in love, or how to keep your relationship spicy (as if, I’m about as spicy as a bowl of sautéed spinach). Here’s a game changer: This week, I’m going to tell you why being in a relationship isn’t always the best situation, especially while you’re in college.

The Starving Gator: Nutella cake-in-a-mug recipe

The two things I love most in the world are 1) instant gratification and 2) Nutella. I hope most of you can agree with me on this. I love to bake, but sometimes the idea of collecting all those ingredients, dirtying all those pans and then having to clean up all that mess is just too much to undertake. Thankfully, there’s a magical land called Pinterest that makes our lives a million times easier. I get almost all of my recipes on Pinterest, because it’s that good.
