Hawthorne man arrested for threatening police

Michael Garrett, 69, is being charged with aggravated assault on an officer, according to court records. Garrett was arrested and booked into the Alachua County Jail at 8:51 a.m. Monday. He’s being held on a $25,000 bond.

Five-star 2023 women’s basketball prospect Laila Reynolds is ready to compete for championships and bring a winning mentality to Gainesville. Reynolds hails from PG County, Maryland. She’s the No.19 recruit in the country as of Nov. 20, according to ESPN.

On Nov. 13, the UF Senate Judiciary Committee moved to indefinitely postpone the Change Caucus-authored articles of impeachment against Student Body President Lauren Lemasters.
