Last Friday, Lacey Logsdon alleged that Mark McShera was being deceitful when he suggested there was wasteful spending in Student Government. As a former treasurer candidate with the Pants Party, and after careful examination of the budget, I was appalled at the wasteful spending.

Advocacy was not student protest

Recent articles about student activism, including Kim Wilmath's "SDS gives heart to Machen," have used the term "student protesters" to describe any form of advocacy on campus. Activism is not always protesting, and I think the use of this term either shows oversight or a biased opinion on the part of Alligator reporters.

NIU tragedy deserved front-page spot

I was shocked on Friday when I saw that the Alligator didn't seem to think that the shooting at Northern Illinois University was front-page news. Instead, we were treated to headlines about online voting, President Machen discussing money issues, a robber confessing to police and a huge picture of people holding hands.
