Giancarlo Esposito speaks at UF on Valentine’s Day

The 64-year-old actor, director and producer spoke with Ted Spiker, UF College of Journalism chair, and implored students to stick with what inspires them. During the event, hosted by UF Accent Speakers Bureau, he asked that students not only make their dreams happen, but invite them to happen. 


Police escorted about 100 supporters of the transgender community out of the Department of Transportation Auditorium in Tallahassee, some leaving without the rights they had only hours prior.

Florida finalizes ban on care for transgender youth

The tension erupted after the Florida Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine voted Friday to preserve rules prohibiting doctors in Florida from providing gender-affirming care to trans minors. This includes sexual reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers or hormone replacement therapy.

Riley Kugel continues to shine while UF struggles

Kugel has come into his own in Florida’s rotation since scoring zero points against Florida State Nov. 18. Kugel has steadily progressed his production on offense — his average for points per game grew from 2.8 points to 7.4 since UF’s game against the Owls.
