Florida grabs the season’s first SEC victory in rout of Texas A&M

Heading into Sunday, Florida has done all the right things through its first three Southeastern Conference matches, but has come up short to start league play, setting up the Gators for a long-awaited win. That is exactly what transpired Sunday, as Florida (5-3-3, 1-1-2 SEC) cruised to a 5-2 victory over Texas A&M (4-7, 0-3 SEC) at Ellis Field in College Station.

Florida and Texas battle to draw

Florida outshot Texas 18-5 but couldn’t find a late winner as the Gators (4-3-3) drew with the Longhorns (5-2-3) 1-1 Thursday night in Gainesville. It was Florida’s first home draw of the season.

Alachua City Commission unofficially tables data center discussion after mayor abruptly kills motion

An Alachua City Commission meeting Monday erupted into chaos after a passionate discussion about data center development in the city. At the beginning of the discussion on data centers, Alachua Vice Mayor Jennifer Ringersen made a motion for a 12-month pause on all data center development within the city, meaning no new permits would be issued to developers looking to build data centers during that time.

It can be easy to separate the art from the artist. But artists pour themselves and their beliefs into their creations. When we interact with their art, we are interacting with who they are as a person. There’s no way to completely ignore the artist when appreciating their art.
