What had long been suspected was confirmed after the Gators practice Wednesday: Wide receiver Percy Harvin and linebacker Brandon Spikes will not play in the season-opener against Hawaii on Saturday.
There's a certain point when a talented prospect becomes a great player. It's the point where athletic ability meets experience.
It looks like the Gators may have to make due without Percy Harvin until the Tennessee game, according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel.
Urban Meyer must be getting awfully tired of answering questions about injuries.
Mon Williams is a forgotten man.
ESPN and the Southeastern Conference have agreed to the longest-running contract in the network's history to gain rights to the SEC's football and men's and women's basketball games.
Despite sporting a collection of highly touted recruits it would be an understatement to say the Gators defense struggled last season.
This summer, Urban Meyer walked by Emmanuel Moody in the weight room and succinctly told him, "Boy, I hope you're really good."
The injury bug has been particularly attracted to UF this off-season.
Brandon Hicks is out on the practice field, and he misses a tackle. He misreads the play and gets caught in the wrong gap.

Gators running back Chris Rainey may not be the best player to talk to for many things, but he sure as hell knows how to make reporters laugh. This exchange could be heard at UF's morning press conference today with the player of "I'm a white-girl man" fame.
Last year Ahmad Black played in seven games as a cornerback but didn't crack the two-deep depth chart.
Plenty of attention is paid to UF's playmakers at skill positions, but the quarterback, running backs and receivers are not what make the Gators offense go.
You could call it the Kestahn Moore show.
ESPN and the Southeastern Conference has reached a huge ridiculous 15-year deal. The deal begins in 2009-10 and will include events from football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Check our Web site later tonight as we'll have a full story.
According to the Miami Herald former UF safety Jamar Hornsby has enrolled at East Mississippi Community College where he will play football this season. He will be eligible to transfer to another FBS school next year. Hornsby was kicked off the team earlier this summer after it was discovered that he made nearly $3,000 worth of charges to the credit card of deceased UF student Ashley Slonina. Hornsby was originally arrested on a felony charge. According to Alachua County court records, the charges were reduced Wednesday to four misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.
