The bill will need to be passed one more time to take effect. If passed, it will allocate $500,000 toward rent relief for UF students.
The bill must be passed by the Senate twice before it can take effect. If passed, it will transfer $500,000 from the SG reserve account to eligible students.
For the second semester in a row, no bills were passed.
The rent relief bill still needs to be passed in the Senate to take effect. It promises to cover payments through the end of students’ rental agreements and outstanding payments from March, April or May.

In UF Student Government’s second virtual meeting, senators were “Zoom bombed” or intentionally hacked. Sexually explicit images and slurs were said. Hackers drew swastikas and also threatened the Senate president.
Andrew Yang, a former Democratic candidate, will speak in March, the UF Accent Speaker’s Bureau announced Monday. This comes a semester after Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle spoke at UF and were paid $50,000 in student fees.
