Florida lacrosse looks to clinch conference title against Denver

The defending Big East champion Florida lacrosse team has looked the part during its tear through league play in 2018. Winner of five straight games, UF now has an opportunity to seal its fourth consecutive Big East title as it travels to Denver to take on the Pioneers on Saturday afternoon at 2 EST.

The No. 1 Gators (32-7, 12-3 SEC) dropped a midweek matchup to Jacksonville on Tuesday to snap a nine-game home winning streak. With Florida’s next series starting tonight against Kentucky rather than the normal Friday start due to television scheduling, coach Kevin O’Sullivan had to work around using certain bullpen players, including closer Michael Byrne and freshmen Tommy Mace and Jordan Butler.

Oscar Psychas, 20, is suing the state of Florida with seven other people under 21 to advocate for better environmental practices. He hiked 300 miles last February to raise awareness for conservation of Florida’s wild areas.
