The Gators (7-4) routed the Ohio Bobcats (5-5) on their way to a 82-48 victory Wednesday in the Victorinox Tampa Tip-Off. UF shot with 52% efficiency, while the Bobcats only made 31% of their shots.
The Gators (6-4) will play in their fourth neutral site game of the season in the Victorinox Tampa Tip-Off against the Ohio University Bobcats (5-4). The game will be the first of a three-game road trip.
The Gators (10-1) defeated the Hurricanes (7-4), 76-73, Sunday afternoon in an overtime thriller in Coral Gables. The matchup was the first time the teams played each other since 2010.
Florida fell to UConn 75-54 in what ended up a blowout loss for the Gators. Star fifth-year forward Colin Castleton recorded just 12 points on 4-14 shooting in the loss.
The Gators defeated Presbyterian in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Tuesday. Florida shot an impressive 46% from the field and made seven of its 13 attempts from beyond the arc. Three Gators scored in double-figures — Rimdal, senior guard KK Deans with 18 points and junior center Ra Shaya Kyle with 12.
Florida defeated Stetson 89-51 Sunday. Five Gators tallied double-digit points in the win, as sophomore guard Will Richard led the way with 14 points.
The Gators rebounded from a rocky trip to Portland, Oregon, with their biggest win of the season over the Florida A&M Rattlers Wednesday night. A perfect 3-point shooting performance and a team-high 23 points from Bonham helped UF cruise to victory.
The Gators scored at will early on, but stagnant second and third quarters brought the Panthers within one. Florida got back on track with an 18-point fourth quarter to secure a 68-53 victory.
Florida men’s basketball struggled in the first half. The Gators constantly fouled the Mountaineers, couldn’t shoot from behind or inside the 3-point line and failed to rebound the ball. A 21-point scoring difference in the second half gave West Virginia a win, and Florida suffered its largest loss of the season.
Florida defeated Oregon State 81-68 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score. The Gators opened the game with a dominant 22-4 run and never looked back, closing out the Beavers and cruising to a comfortable win.
Florida lost to Xavier 90-83 in Portland, Oregon, Thursday. The Musketeers hit 10 3-pointers on 50% shooting from behind the arc to beat the Gators.
Florida defeated Green Bay Thursday in the St. Pete Showcase. UF senior guard Leilani Correa led the team in scoring with 20 points, with junior Jordyn Merritt right behind with 17 points.
Florida Gators women’s basketball took on the Furman Paladins in their fourth home game of the season Monday night and came out with a decisive victory. UF still remains undefeated inside the Stephen C. O’Connell center so far this season.
Five-star 2023 women’s basketball prospect Laila Reynolds is ready to compete for championships and bring a winning mentality to Gainesville. Reynolds hails from PG County, Maryland. She’s the No.19 recruit in the country as of Nov. 20, according to ESPN.
Florida defeated Florida State Friday night. It's the first consecutive win over the ‘Noles for UF since the Gators won five straight meetings from 2009-2013. Florida star Colin Castleton finished with 25 points and nine rebounds in the contest.
Florida defeated Bethune-Cookman Friday night inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. UF made more than half its shots and finished with a 52% field goal percentage. Second chance points helped keep the Wildcats within reach of Florida, outscoring the Gators 16 points to six in the category.
Based on the run Florida had just went on, six points felt more than achievable. However, a stagnant fourth quarter ended with the Seminoles on top, 92-77. The Seminoles led by as many as 19 points in a game where the Gators ran out of magic and failed to come back one more time.
The Gators dropped their first game of the season to FAU 76-74 inside the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The Owls overcame a 30-point and 12-rebound performance from Florida forward Colin Castleton — his first double-double of the season — by hitting 13 3-pointers on 24 attempts.
The Gators moved to 2-0 on the season after beating UNC Asheville 86-40 Sunday afternoon. Florida led for all four quarters and outscored the Bulldogs 49-17 in the second half.
