In support of Progress Party 1

In the spring of 2009, the Progress Party was founded in an attempt to overthrow a political system composed of an entrenched group of overly entitled elites that rendered the UF Student Government completely inaccessible to the students it promised to represent. I had the honor to serve as the Progress Party’s presidential candidate with some of the most thoughtful and passionate students I met during my time at UF.

Votes should express ideals

Since Thursday's column about the validity of voting for revenge, I've gotten the chance to speak to Erik Voss. I was able to impress upon him my regret at having never heard about the comments posted on his Facebook. After a long day of trying to figure out what exactly happened, a friend of mine came forward and acknowledged that it was he who, after one-too-many drinks, left the aforementioned note on Voss's Facebook one evening while I was still logged in. He has since apologized to Voss and me.

It is completely irresponsible for the UF Board of Trustees to approve nearly ,300,000 in performance bonuses for President Bernie Machen while the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences remains in crippling debt.

Columbia U. commended for speaker

I was offended last year to hear that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was questioning the historical accuracy of the Holocaust. On that note, I would like to take the opportunity to commend Columbia University for allowing him to address students Monday in an open forum.
