Cooper joins baseball team

UF wide receiver Riley Cooper, who was taking batting practice with the baseball team this week, is now officially on the team, according to a UF press release.

Originally it was not thought Cooper would play because spring football practice would take too much of his time, but he is now on the team as an outfielder.

Cooper, a 15th-round pick of the Phillies in 2006, will be active for tomorrow's opening game against Siena.

He may wear the No. 46 jersey he was seen in during baseball practice. His speed should be a huge asset to the already quick outfield. Cooper will likely be the fourth outfielder, pushing the freshmen lower in the depth charts.
