UF Student Senate fails to elect new leadership

The 94 senators at the chamber’s first meeting after Spring Break were supposed to elect a new Senate president, Senate pro-tempore and two members at large, per the Rules and Procedures of the Student Senate. This comes after the Change Caucus secured a majority in Spring elections.

Blazed, unfazed: UF students share marijuana habits

College students are using marijuana at historically high levels, according to a 2021 study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. A significant portion — 44% — of college students reported using marijuana in 2020, compared to 38% in 2015, the study said.

UF students honor Turkish, Syrian earthquake victims

The Turkish Student Association organized a 7 p.m. vigil Thursday to honor victims of the earthquakes that devastated Turkey and Syria in early February. Students of various ethnicities showed up to support the organization, according to TSA President Ece Zivrali.
