Riley Kugel continues to shine while UF struggles

Kugel has come into his own in Florida’s rotation since scoring zero points against Florida State Nov. 18. Kugel has steadily progressed his production on offense — his average for points per game grew from 2.8 points to 7.4 since UF’s game against the Owls.

Women’s lacrosse built on Long Island Gators

Florida assistant coach Nicole Levy — along with several players of the UF women’s lacrosse team — are from Long Island, New York — a lacrosse hotspot. Most players on the team moved to Gainesville from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Connecticut.

UF Online, Major League Soccer Players Association announce partnership

UF Online and the Major League Soccer Players Association announced a new partnership Tuesday to allow current and former MLS players to pursue online degree programs.  Beginning in the Fall 2023 semester, players will be able to choose from 25 UF Online programs and will be connected with an academic adviser when they start their program.

Sasse’s quiet first week follows loud first day

Ben Sasse’s first day as UF president began with an email to students, faculty and staff with high expectations to see them around campus. That same afternoon, students, faculty and alumni gathered for another protest against him outside Tigert Hall.  Despite the commotion of the first-day protest, a majority of students didn’t attend, and some were unaware that Sasse began his tenure at all.

Shooting woes, turnovers plague Florida in blowout loss

The Florida Gators (14-11, 3-9 SEC) fell to the Georgia Bulldogs (17-9, 6-6 SEC) 81-55, as the Bulldogs completed the season sweep against the Gators. Georgia took advantage of Florida's offensive struggles and turnovers. The Bulldogs built a large lead early and never looked back.
