UF’s Student Senate christened the white walls of the new Senate chambers with the election of a new Senate president and pro tempore at Tuesday’s meeting.
UF’s Elections Commission heard nine out of 48 complaints from Impact Party, Access Party and UF’s Supervisor of Elections on Friday morning.
UF students approved an amendment to bring online voting to UF’s Student Body as Impact Party claimed the executive ticket Wednesday night.
Across campus Tuesday, the clamor of students exercising their rights to vote began.
In an orange floral shirt, a black blazer and black slacks, Heather Brown found herself surrounded by men and women dressed in orange and blue on the steps of the State Capitol.
In a lecture room Monday, Alfonso Mejia stood up and told students how he dropped out of rushing for his fraternity because he knew he would never be UF Student Body president.
On Tuesday, Molly Minta will go to Marston Science Library to vote in the UF Student Government elections.
A video about oppression within UF’s Student Government reached more than 29,000 views as of press time on Facebook after being posted at 9:08 p.m. Sunday.
In the last UF Senate meeting before elections, Anthony Black (Access, District D) resigned from his seat in the chambers.

Access Party
The first time Lillian Rozsa didn’t exercise her right to vote was when she came to UF. As a freshman, she didn’t want to vote for the single-party system in Senate, which was run by Swamp Party.
