Marston Library’s return to 24/7 hours may be temporary

UF’s student government announced on Instagram Jan. 13 that Marston Library would reinstate 24-hour services after spring break with funding secured through Provost Joe Glover. However, details of the deal reveal the provost agreed to fund the initiative only for the remainder of the Spring and Fall 2023 semesters for a pilot study that’ll collect data on overnight hour usage to inform future funding decisions.

ChatGPT: UF community navigates a new frontier

ChatGPT was launched in November by OpenAI, an American software company that specializes in artificial intelligence research. ChatGPT incorporates user feedback, improvisational and conversational skills and the internet’s endless supply of information to craft any desired text with any given prompt. In an interview with the New York Times in mid-January, Provost Joe Glover emphasized ChatGPT isn’t yet explicitly worked into UF policy.

El condado de Alachua evaluará pasos peatonales en las escuelas

La intersección cerca de Kimball Wiles es el paso peatonal al centro de la investigación del Departamento de Trabajo Público del Condado de Alachua sobre choques en el área. En los últimos cinco años, han habido 13 choques a 200 pies de la esquina — dos de ellos involucraron pasos peatonales o peatones, dijo Thomas Strom, gerente de ingeniería de transportación.
