Gainesville game day banner causes controversy

One banner in particular created more anger among fans than the rest. The banner depicted a cartoonish character hung up, as it is typically drawn in the popular game known as “Hangman.” Travis’ number 13 was drawn on the cartoon figure, and the leg was drawn to appear broken.

Florida in freefall after LSU loss

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Gators (5-5, 3-4 SEC) lost 52-35 against the Tigers (7-3, 5-2 SEC) in Tiger Stadium Nov. 11. With No. 11 Missouri and undefeated No. 4 Florida State on the horizon, Florida has a real chance of finishing the season on a five-game losing streak and going 5-7. If UF were to finish with a losing record for the third season in a row, it would be the first time since Florida achieved three consecutive losing seasons since 1945-1947.

Know Your Enemy: LSU Tigers

The Gators (5-4, 3-3 SEC) and Tigers (6-3, 4-2 SEC) both lost their previous matchups and are looking to get back on track with a victory Saturday. UF lost an overtime heartbreaker at home to Arkansas, while LSU fell on the road to bitter rivals Alabama. I sat down with Peter Rauterkus, the sports editor of the Reveille, the student newspaper at LSU, to break down the matchup.
