Rate and review: 'Solar Power'

For the past few years, New Zealand pop star Lorde has completely stayed away from the public eye, and the only morsels of content fans have been fed are occasional newsletters in email inboxes. However, the wait is over: Lorde released her third album, “Solar Power,” Aug. 20, and it’s safe to say that fans are satisfied.

Local musician caro releases newest album

The 22-year-old UF electrical engineering senior, who makes music as caro, released “Introspection” July 9. The album blends Garcia’s classical piano beginnings with chillwave and R&B, representing the array of musical influences in her production.

Commemorating a decade of the Dive

High Dive hits a decade month, marking 10 years of highlighting local music, hosting national acts and giving back to the Gainesville community. The venue, a Gainesville staple, has hosted some of the area’s breakout stars and the nation’s biggest names throughout its run.

Local band gives back with benefit concert

The first “Helping Hands” benefit concert took place at Swamp City Gallery Lounge and was organized by the local band, RA’SBRY. The concert featured a number of musicians and vendors from the Gainesville area, and the proceeds were donated to the Repurpose Project.
