Codes don’t replace conscience

While I think it's great that Student Body President Kevin Reilly and Student Senate President Jordan Johnson say they want to end the corruption in Student Government, ethics seminars and rewriting the "weak" SG Code of Ethics will not accomplish their goals.

Senate wrong to confirm Chomp director

I voted against Brett Roth's confirmation as Chomp the Vote executive director during Student Senate deliberations last week. In what is likely to be the most pivotal election of our lives, we cannot afford to pass up the opportunity to register as many Gators as possible. Unfortunately, I fear that Student Government may have done just that.

Orange and Blue campaign a success

Reading yesterday's Alligator, you would have thought that the Orange and Blue Party got slaughtered. But we didn't exchange hugs of commiseration last night. We exchanged hugs of joy. We may not have won the executive positions, but we did win more Senate seats than any opposition party since the Unite Party won 13 in Spring 2006. The Orange and Blue Party ran a strong campaign, and I think even the Gator Party will acknowledge that.
