Out at night and wanting a bite?

Venturing across Gainesville only takes up half an evening. The second half is greeted with growling stomachs and a craving night owls can only kick after the clock strikes midnight. Here are four choices, from quick stops to sit-downs, where you can satisfy your cravings.

But the email was real, and on April 18, Uppercrust Bakery will be featured on a new episode of the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” a TV show exploring America’s best local and lesser known eateries. Uppercrust’s episode will highlight the artichoke barigoule rose, a croissant topped with Gruyère and white wine braised artichokes; and reine de saba, a French chocolate almond cake.

A glimpse into Gainesville’s South American cuisine

Some restaurants have grown alongside the Hispanic community, which makes up about 12% of Gainesville residents. Others are just now following in their footsteps by opening their businesses. Big: Culture & Arts Festival brings creatives across the state to Gainesville 

Big: Cultures & Arts Festival is set to take place in an empty lot between Porters Community and South Main Street, breathing life into the venue with Florida’s music, fashion, visual art and film scene. Musical artists based in Gainesville and cities across the state, including Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa and Miami, are set to appear in numbers April 13.

Sublime Tacos announces relocation at the end of June

On May 9, Sublime Tacos announced its plans to close its 4th Ave Food Park location and move to a drive-thru-only location at 1818 NE Waldo Road in East Gainesville. The announcement gives hope to East Gainesville residents who are excited to see more food options moving to their side of town.
