Stadium Study Session

(Nicole Safker / Alligator Staff) Chris Allison, a UF sports management junior, studies in the stands of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Monday afternoon. When games aren't being played, the stadium is open to people who want to exercise or catch up on homework. Monday's warm and sunny weather drew numerous students to the stadium to relax and study.

Perfect for a Pluckin'

(Jason Henry / Alligator) Randy Hollinger, 33, practices the banjo outside Norman Hall on Monday evening while waiting for his wife, Amy, who attends class there. Norman Hall, located on Southwest 13th Street, houses many of UF's education classes. Hollinger teaches life science to seventh-grade students near UF at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School. He spends about an hour every Monday plucking his banjo strings on a bench around sunset.

It wasn't the performance he had in mind, but UF men's tennis coach Andy Jackson was encouraged by his team's play during the weekend at the ITA Southeast Regional in Lexington, Ky.

Gainesville Solar Tour showcases energy-efficient homes

Along with several local homeowners, Dwight Adams welcomed small groups of strangers into his energy-efficient home Sunday afternoon. Adams showed guests his home's solar water heater and 27 rooftop solar panels, some of which connect to a solar inverter that sends the sun's energy to Gainesville Regional Utilities.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - As I soaked in the game day atmosphere while stuck in traffic on the way to the stadium Saturday, it became blatantly obvious that Kentucky has never been more excited about its football team.
