Protest achieved its goals

An editorial headline told us that Wednesday's demonstration for transparency was pointless and that it "didn't accomplish much." As a member of Students for a Democratic Society and an organizer of the protest, I'd like to point out that we actually accomplished every one of our objectives for the day.

Swamp assigns seats for reason

As a lifelong Gators fan and UF student, I did not have much fun at last week's football game versus Western Kentucky University. My girlfriend and I had good seats - about 25 rows up - and we were close to the action with a good view. When it was time for kickoff, everyone stood up, and a fun time was to be had by all, right?

Speakers to discuss business sustainability

UF will host two experts on environmentally friendly business strategies for The Business Case for Sustainability and UF Sustainability Showcase on Monday and Tuesday. L. Hunter Lovins and Bob Willard will address the ways in which businesses can benefit from eco-friendly practices. Doors will open for the first speech at 6 p.m., and speeches will begin at 7 p.m. in the Reitz Union Ballroom on Monday. As part of the showcase, nearly 30 student groups are registered to table at the Reitz Union before and after the presentation.
