The fifth inning run resurgence powered No. 4 Florida (18-0) over Longwood (1-11) 12-4 on Saturday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. Florida recorded its fifth consecutive run-rule win.
The Alfred A. Ring Complex felt tense on Saturday afternoon, with cheers for the Gators and the Tigers echoing from the crowd.
After a controlling start in doubles, Auburn (8-1) caused chaos for Florida (6-4) the rest of the match. With only two 7-6 first-set victories, the Gators could not find an answer, as the Tigers defeated the Gators 6-1.
